For Clear Skin: Ayurvedic Treatment of Acne

Ayurveda is a form of medicinal practice used since ancient times. It has been used for many cases pertaining to health. It centers on herbal remedies, such as ones used to clear skin.

Herbal Treatment of Acne

If you want to use Ayurvedic techniques to clear skin of acne you can use a variety of remedies that have natural ingredients in them. Here are some tips for you:

  • Massage face often using herbal-based oil that has Madhuka, Laaskha, and Matulunga in it. This should keep your skin soft and moist because drying it out would case acne.
  • A face pack could be used. One that seems to work is one made of Masoora, Kushta, Or Kaaliyaka, or comparably effective herbs.
  • Whatever herbal treatment you apply it is highly recommended that you use it for seven days. This should help free your face from pimples, scars, dark circles, and other blemishes.

It also might help to find a home remedy and/or product used to clear skin that has the following ingredients in it:

    • Haritaki (Terminalia Chebula)
    • Lajjalu (Sensitive plant)
    • Guduchi (Tinospora cardifolia)
    • Amalaki (Embelica officinalis)
    • Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris L.)
    • Ikshu (Saccharumofficinarum)
    • Kumari (Aloe Vera)

You may not necessarily come across one that has all of them in it. However, you may, depending upon the availability in your country.

Additional Care Tips

Other tips to help clear skin may also be used. Some of these are inspired by ayurvedic practices. Please see below:

  • Eating a heavy meal after exercise is not recommended. This can cause digestive problems and then can lead to the onslaught of acne or other blemishes.
  • Spending too much time in the hot sun or the bitter cold could be a problem. In either case it can dry the skin and this leads to the formation of blemishes, wrinkles, or acne.
  • Certain food combinations can cause breakouts. For instance, fish along with milk, honey and pork, or milk and mango seem to negatively affect the skin. Avoid these combos.
  • Use of excess salty and fried foods is a problem. Make sure you eat as little of these as possible.
  • Sour and spicy foods could cause a problem as well. These include radish, Bengal gram, or jaggery. These are better off not used.
  • Use of medication or yoga can help reduce stress. This along with a diet plan can lead to clear skin.
