Sample Clear Skin Diet Meal Plan
This is a mean plan for people who want to maintain or achieve clear skin. This is a sample menu only but it will provide ideas for you to use day to day.
You can mix and match the ideas and maybe replace some of the food items for comparable selections. As you do this make sure you remain under your ideal calorie, fat, salt, sugar, carbohydrate, cholesterol, and nutrient content for the day.
For breakfast-Perhaps some plain yogurt with chopped fresh fruit added to it. A handful of pumpkin seeds and/or oats with fresh hazelnuts, sunflower, and sesame seeds in it along with raisons and apple juice along with it might be appropriate.
Lunch-You could make yourself a stuffed baked potato with the following ingredients: tuna, tomato, celery, and spring onion. You can flavor it with olive oil and lemon juice along with a rice salad.
You could have with it cottage cheese, pumpkin seeds, olive oil, lemon juice, and freshly ground black pepper. You could use these ingredients or fresh vegetables to create meal variations.
Dinner-Grilled fresh fish, chicken, or lean steak would be choices of entrees. If you are vegetarian then perhaps a bean or soy burger would suit you as an entrée. This along with steamed or lightly fried stir-fry vegetables might also be tasty. You could also steam fry the vegetables by using a small drop of oil and adding a couple of tablespoons of water and then put them in a steamer.
Snack Ideas
Along with ideas for creating clear skin diets you may be in need of snacks to hold you over. This snack might be fresh fruit, raw nuts or seeds such as ones described above or you might want to try raw vegetables and lowfat dip.
Liquid Intake
You should drink a minimum of six glasses a water a day. Along with this you can also consume moderate amounts of herbal and fruit teas-about two cups per day. Fruit smoothies with fresh fruit and yogurt can also be very tasty.
Acne-Causing Foods
As you adjust your diet to achieve clear skin, keep in mind there are some acne-causing foods. These include the following: too many diary products, chocolate, white flour, refined sugar, canned and boxed foods, caffeine, and fatty meats.
Fried foods (potato chips, chicken, cheese curds, potatoes) are also among those that cause pimples. Alcohol and candy are more foods that could prevent you from having clear skin.
