For Clear Skin: Basic Skin Care Techniques

One of the ways you can achieve clear skin is to take care of it daily. This requires some simple techniques to help you regardless of your skin type.

If you really want to care well for your face and body you can find out what exactly your skin type is. However, the basic skin care techniques for clear skin include the following:

Step #1-Clean your skin. This is done best if you make the process as simple as possible. One way to make this process simple is to find a cleanser that your skin responds well to.

Then stick to it. Avoid using bar soap or certain types of body soap on your face. Whatever product you use it should be made for your skin type (oily, normal/combination, dry, sensitive or sun- damaged).

Step #2-Scrub your skin. This should be done at least once a week. It is the process of using a gentle scrubbing cleanser to help remove dead skin cells from your face. This is done to rejuvenate your skin and it also helps reduce acne and dirt buildup.

Step #3-Moisturize your skin. Often a specific skin care product you use has also a moisturizing cream in its collection. Whatever one is appropriate for your skin type is the one you should use.

Step #4-Shield your skin. You can do this with sunscreen. It will help protect your face before you go out into the sun. There are lip balms that have a certain SPF level as well to protect you from the sun.

About Skin Type

The best way to maintaining clear skin is in determining your skin type. You can for instance tell if you have oily skin if your pores are more enlarge and your face appears shiny.

If you have combination or normal skin your pores may be medium-sized. It will then have a smooth and even texture and good circulation as well as a healthy color. Your cheeks may be slightly dry while the area around and above your nose (T-zone) may be oily.

Sensitive skin usually is thin and delicate with fine pores. It flushes easily and could lead to broken capillaries and more prone to allergies.

Dry skin feels very tight especially after you clean it. You may see fine wrinkles or red patches appear, or you may see flaking. Darker-skinned individuals may look as though their skin is slightly faded or discolored. Sun-damaged skin also can be very dry.
