Clear Skin and Skin Types

If you want clear skin you may need to know more about skin types. Knowing more about your face in particular will help you pick out the right cleansing, moisturizing, and protecting products.

It also will help you dramatically improve your complexion if you know the difference between varying dermal textures. It also helps to know how to notice characteristics that would help define your skin type.

It would be in your best interest to read this info. (Remember though as you do that this does not replace going to a doctor or dermatologist if necessary.) It may save you from damaging your face as you should become more educated in the kinds of products you should use on it.

Skin Types Explained

Oily-This type of skin often appears shinier. Your pores are more enlarged and you may experience blackheads on a regular basis, and your face may be slightly tight. When you touch your face it may feel greasy, and your face may feel sweaty. You may notice it more on a hot day than a cold one but it is noticeable all year round.

Combination/normal-Usually medium pores are characteristic of this skin type. It usually has a more even and smooth texture and better circulation than other types of complexions. It may be dry on the cheeks and slightly oily on the bridge of the nose and around the nose.

Dry/Sensitive-Usually this type of complexion appears dull-looking, as if it has no life. Often a person with dry skin might scratch it frequently, and it is more prone to allergies. People who have drier or more sensitive complexions may also experience more rashes.

Aging/Sun Damaged-Usually more wrinkles and lines are visible on the face. The skin may be leathery and capillaries may be broken. Some tightness may appear and blemishes and discoloration from being in the sun too long could occur.

Complexion Changes

Various factors affect whether or not you are able to obtain clear skin. For instance, too much exposure to extreme heat or cold may make a difference. The wrong diet or not enough exercise or poor hygiene might also be factors.

Whether or not you take a medication could also affect your complexion. Certain medical treatments such as surgery or chemotherapy might also lead to changes in complexion.

Other factors include stress, hormonal changes, or soaps and cleansers used. One mistake people make while trying to achieve clear skin would be to using products inappropriate for the skin type.
